twenty-four

high octane. this series is aptly described by all the cliche terms in the rainbow. a thrill-ride lightning-packed rollercoaster of action that never slows down and keeps you on the edge of your seat and the balls of your feet.

my only complaint is the women in this show. this writer must be so misogynistic. terry bauer - stupid ho. kim bauer - stupid ho. sherry palmer - stupid ho.

spoilers now. terry makes a decent escape then stops the car so that it rolls down a goddamn hill and explodes. she falls down and gets fucking amnesia. christ. then she refuses to find help, and wanders around in an amnesiatic stupor while an assassin hunts her.

kim sneaks out of the house to go party with her friend and gets kidnapped. then she falls in love with the guy who kidnapped her. then after the car explodes, she goes to his fucking house, where the other kidnapper's crazy brother won't let her leave while a drug deal goes down.

sherry palmer just plain sucks. she's evil and power hungry. and she looks like satan, if satan were a middle-aged black woman.

the guys are so capable. but the women - they're exactly the characters that you want to fucking scream at to not be stupid fucking moron bitches. i really do hate them.

saving face

i had a great title and intro worked out for my latest post. then i forgot it.

i used to write here what i thought of movies i saw. i'd be so behind if i tried to catch up that i'm not going to bother.

i missed my chance to see howl's moving castle in northampton. guess i'll have to wait til it comes out on dvd.

this looks interesting. i don't know how i'll get to see it though.

wedding crashers was purely awesome. what chemistry. that part at breakfast when they quietly reaffirm their love. it went straight to the heart.

i still need to see charlie and the chocolate factory and dark water. to a lesser extent, i want to see the island and the bad news bears.

that russian movie, night watch, looks incredibly creepy. and it's the first in an epic trilogy. spider baby coming out of the eye?

serenity is on the dropdown menu under -upcoming-! i'm going to see if the trailer for harry potter year 3 is up yet.

untitled

i don't understand how people can watch flcl and not feel moved. every time i even think about that series, i feel my life shift perceptibly. same with miyazaki's films. nothing i have ever seen in american film has come close.

wet floor

tao has been "ruined." he let a girl "get to him." don't let this happen to you.

gay marriage!

i don't get it, but i'll never condemn it. or hate it. or try to tell them it's illegal.

if men want to marry each other, doesn't hurt me. if women want to marry each other, i suppose that lessens the pool of available women for me, but i doubt they'd be too interested in yours truly. unless gay people are going around kidnapping children and eating them, or flying around in invisible gay planes shooting gayrays at people and turning them gay, let them be married! i mean, COME ON. how is this an issue?

i'm still on the fence about man-box turtle marriage. although i do love the icon for it.
